Burchett Carries Campaign to all 94 Knox County Precincts – Hears Common Concern of ‘Trust’ from Voters
December 8, 2009
(Knoxville, TN) In a clear signal of his commitment to taking his campaign directly to voters, Knox County mayoral candidate State Senator Tim Burchett announced today that he has visited voters in all 94 Knox County voting precincts.

“There is no more direct way to hear what is on the minds of voters than going door-to-door. Since I first ran for office in 1994, I have found voters truly appreciate seeing a candidate who is willing to get out every day and earn their vote by first and foremost listening to them and by sharing their vision.”

Burchett also noted that ‘Trust’ is a common theme voters have touched on around the county. “The next mayor will face many challenges including the very serious work of getting our financial house in order during difficult economic times. Voters understand this, but they also understand that moving in the right direction requires that people first have trust in their elected officials. If this trust is there we can roll up our sleeves and get to work. If its not, the voters will be rightly skeptical of every policy and every decision.”

“Voters are ready to move our county in a new direction, but some have told me they are afraid we could end up actually going backwards. The voters know that this won’t happen on my watch. They know my 15 plus year record of public service and they understand I’m in the trenches fighting for them and them alone. My campaign is about putting the focus back on the voters and not the politicians, and getting our house in order so we can move forward in the right direction together.”

Burchett is seeking the Republican nomination for county mayor in the May 4, 2010 primary. Early voting starts April 14. People interested in getting involved in the Burchett campaign can sign-up at www.electburchett.com.
