Burchett Appeals to Citizens to Exercise Their Right to Vote

April 13, 2010

(Knoxville, TN) Knox County mayoral candidate Tim Burchett released the following statement today encouraging every eligible Knox County citizen to participate in the upcoming primary election:

Regardless of who you may support in the upcoming mayoral primaries or what your partisan preference may be, I want to encourage you to go to the polls beginning tomorrow and exercise your right to vote. Our right to vote is our right to make a difference and to hold our government accountable.

Knox County faces many challenges, but none which cannot be met with great success if we have a local government that we trust, that is transparent and is committed to serving rather than being served.

The only way we will accomplish this, however, is if we - as an entire community - exercise our right to vote.

Please, go vote and be a part of moving our government in a new direction.

Burchett is seeking the Republican nomination for Knox County mayor in the May 4, 2010 primary. Early voting begins tomorrow, April 14th.
