Burchett Keeps Word - Plans Election Night Where Campaign Began

August 2, 2010

(Knoxville, TN) Knox County Republican mayoral candidate State Senator Tim Burchett announced today he was planning his election night activities around a promise he made over a year and a half ago.

"Well over a year ago some of my earliest supporters stepped forward and hosted a 'bologna lunch' for Allison and me at Powell Auction. I made a promise that day when I told our friends I was beginning this campaign right there and that we would end it right there in August on Election Night,' Senator Burchett said.

He added, "August is here and on the 5th I plan to make good on that promise."

Throughout the campaign Burchett has stressed the need to restore trust to local government starting with the mayor's office. Although some other candidates will be gathered at another location, Senator Burchett strongly believes it is important for him to keep his word and return to where the campaign began.

The event is open to the public and parking is free. There will be refreshments and live music provided Jim Clayton and the Chillbillies. This will be a family oriented event.

What: Elect Burchett Election Night Rally

                    When: Thursday, August 5, 2010 - 7:00 p.m.

Where: Powell Auction, 6729 Pleasant Ridge Road

"We don't know what the outcome of this race will be, but I do know that our entire campaign has been the result of hundreds of committed volunteers and supporters who want to move our county in a new direction. Allison and I would be proud to stand with each of them Thursday night," Burchett said.
